About
Born in 1988 in Lisbon, Portugal, Rita Isabel is an internationally renowned digital artist, painter, and creative photographer. She achieved global recognition through her award-winning work, which has been showcased in various exhibitions and publications worldwide.
From an early age, Rita demonstrated an interest and talent for art, starting to draw at the age of 2.
Her journey into the world of digital art began at the age of 14 when she started learning Photoshop. The lack of available models led her to use herself as the subject, capturing self-portraits with her first digital camera, a Sony Cybershot.
Rita found a unique form of self-expression in self-portraits. Like Kahlo, Rita believes that she is the subject she knows best, using her own experiences, emotions, and life as sources of inspiration for her art.
"I paint myself because I am often alone and I am the subject I know best." - Frida Kahlo
In her self-portraits, Rita expresses her deepest feelings, pains, dreams, achievements, and desires, offering the viewer an intimate look into her emotional and personal journey.
Her work not only delights visually but also provokes reflections on identity, self-acceptance, and the human experience.

Oscar Wilde
“Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter.”
